Legal Services of Northern Michigan - Specialty Grant - Legal Services for Veterans facing homelessness

Legal Services of Northern Michigan (LSNM) is seeking one full-time staff attorney for the Legal Services for Veterans grant funded position, dedicated to providing legal assistance to Veterans facing homelessness or the risk of homelessness in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The candidate will work closely with LSNM administrators, staff attorneys, regional and local Veterans organizations, and community agencies to identify and assist those Veterans in need.

This attorney will handle a wide range of matters that may be contributing to Veteran homelessness or risk of homelessness, concentrating on housing, public benefits, domestic violence and consumer issues. This is a great opportunity for a self-directed and motivated attorney. The successful candidate must be willing to travel by car throughout the Upper Peninsula. To learn more, see lsnm.org. The candidate must be a member of the State Bar of Michigan or have taken the July bar exam and are awaiting results; or, be a member of another state's bar and eligible to petition for admission to SBM without the exam.
