Michigan Advocacy Program - Operations & HelpDesk Support Assistant - Ypsilanti

POSITION: Michigan Advocacy Program is seeking an Operations & HelpDesk Support Assistant to provide front-line HelpDesk support to approximately 250 legal aid employees around the state and conduct daily triage and management of the IT ticketing queue. Additional job duties include managing organization-wide technology operations such as user accounts (email, case management, Sharepoint, Adobe, etc.), software subscriptions, equipment inventory and others. The Operations & HelpDesk Support Assistant will work closely with the rest of MAP’s IT department. MAP offers a hybrid remote/in-person arrangement from our office in downtown Ypsilanti.

DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM: MAP works to advance the safety, independence, and economic stability of those most affected by poverty, racism, and other structurally oppressive systems by increasing access to justice and working for systemic solutions. MAP has provided civil legal aid for those unable to afford an attorney for more than 50 years. Today, MAP’s Legal Services of South Central Michigan (LSSCM) has five legal aid offices in south and central Michigan serving 13 counties with an emphasis on homelessness prevention, domestic violence and elder abuse prevention, and assistance in accessing health care, food, and needs-based income programs. In addition to LSSCM, MAP manages six statewide programs serving immigrant communities (Michigan Immigrant Rights Center), vulnerable older adults (Michigan Elder Justice Initiative), victims of domestic violence and elder abuse (Crime Victims Legal Assistance Program), migrant and seasonal farmworkers (Farmworker Legal Services), providing research and training support to all legal aid advocates (Michigan Poverty Law Program), and providing access to legal information to self-represented litigants (Michigan Legal Help Program). QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must have an associate’s degree or equivalent experience. Good people skills are also necessary, as the position requires numerous meetings and ongoing communication with staff members experiencing technical difficulties. Prior experience working in an office is preferred. Google Workspace and Microsoft SharePoint/365 experience is a plus. Applicants must be able to effectively manage multiple tasks, remain organized, set priorities, and meet all deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to take initiative in the development and completion of projects, and to work both independently and on a team is required. 

BENEFITS: Salary is from $40,000 depending on experience and includes excellent benefits.
