MPLP Nuts and Bolts of Appellate Advocacy Training

As part of its civil appeals project, MPLP will host a Nuts and Bolts of Appellate Advocacy training on Thursday, November 12, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Okemos Conference Center.

This one-day, in-person training will focus on the nuts and bolts of civil appellate advocacy for legal aid attorneys. The training will include:

·      Step-by-step overviews of appeals to circuit court and the Court of Appeals,

·      Presentations by expert practitioners on brief writing and oral advocacy, and

·      A panel of circuit and Court of Appeals judges providing their perspective on best practice.

A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.
