Description

UI Advocacy Skills Training
The Sugar Law Center is partnering with the Michigan Poverty Law Program to provide an Unemployment Insurance (UI) Advocacy Skills training for claimant advocates. While all are welcome, this training is directed at claimant advocates who are new to practice and/or new to UI appeals to provide them with information, contacts, and resources that will enable them to handle a UI appeal from beginning to end.

Presenters will include David Blanchard, Jennifer Charnizon (LSSCM), Jacob Fallman (Sugar Law Center), Cris Wasserman (LSEM) and Tony Paris (Sugar Law Center).

Keynote Speaker Announcement - Julia Dale, Michigan UIA Director
We are excited to announce that our training will include a keynote address from Michigan UIA Director Julia Dale. Director Dale will be sharing remarks about her experiences leading the agency under the unique challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and the efforts she has and continues to make to move toward a Michigan UI administration that is equitable and claimant-centered.
